Our relationship is built on trust and mutual respect with just the right amount of humor! We met each
other over 20 years ago in high school. We were both very active in sports and school activities plus worked jobs on the side.
We have been married for 6 years and have a 3 year old biological daughter, Charlotte, who was conceived through fertility treatments. She is an active, happy child who
enjoys books, dancing, and playing with friends. She is looking forward to being a big sister! We have both always wanted to adopt a child. We took our fertility issues as a sign that it was meant to be and we are so excited about the prospect of an open adoption! We are fortunate to be able to provide Charlotte with a
stable, loving, and enriching home life and we are looking forward to sharing this with another child.
Rhonda Talks About Mike
Mike is trustworthy,
hardworking and faithful. He is funny, playful, and endlessly
patient. With him I feel safe, respected and loved. He is a
true sports nut and loves to spend hours doing home
improvement projects. I am touched by how well Mike
knows and understands Charlotte. She obviously adores
him! When Charlotte was born, I was amazed by how
naturally fatherhood seemed to come to him. He instantly
knew how to soothe her and cared for her as though he had
been around infants all his life. And now that Charlotte is
older, I admire him even more for the wonderful father/
daughter relationship they have. They love to play sports
together and enjoy making up their own variations of livingroom
baseball or football. Mike already has plans to teach
the next child how to skate too so he can form our own
family hockey team.
Mike Talks About Rhonda
Rhonda is outgoing, creative
and has a good sense of humor – she even laughs at my jokes
when they’re not that funny! When I saw how caring she was
as a teacher, I knew she would make an excellent mom. When
we first started dating, I admired her for having been a Peace
Corps volunteer and for her compassion towards others. She
spent two years working with children who have mental
disabilities in Ecuador, where she became fluent in Spanish. I
wasn’t surprised when I learned that adoption is something she
has dreamed about since she was a little girl. She has always
been driven by a desire to help and nurture others, especially
children. The creativity and devotion she once channeled to
her students she now showers on Charlotte. She is looking
forward to sharing her imaginative arts and crafts projects with
our next child. She loves exercising, reading, cooking and
finding opportunities to use her Spanish. |
